Accra, Ghana – May 25, 2022 – SYMX Infrastructure has signed a landmark agreement with IOP Group of Companies, LLC to collaborate on the expansion, capitalization, and financing of IOP’s Ghana Bauxite Company Ltd., the largest producer of bauxite in the region.
Under this agreement, SYMX Infrastructure will spearhead the expansion of Ghana Bauxite’s mining facilities and equipment. The collaboration includes financing for new equipment, the construction of new facilities, and the modernization and expansion of the Ghana bauxite terminal and truck fleet as part of Phase 1. Phase 2 will see the development of a state-of-the-art refinery.
The Government of Ghana holds a 20% ownership stake in The Ghana Bauxite Company, Ltd., underscoring the strategic importance of this project to the nation’s economic development.
This partnership marks a significant step forward in enhancing the capacity and efficiency of Ghana’s bauxite production, positioning the country as a key player in the global bauxite market.
