Governance & Sustainability

Governance

At SYMX, our mission is to generate value for all our stakeholders—clients, employees, and the communities we serve. We uphold robust corporate governance standards that emphasize integrity, transparency, and accountability, which we believe safeguard and potentially boost stakeholder value. We are convinced that sound business practices, transparent financial reporting, and top-tier corporate governance are crucial to our company’s success.

A crucial aspect of personal accountability is making decisions promptly. In our organizational culture, the essence of decision-making is that effective decisions must be made without delay. Failing to decide in a timely manner is, by default, a decision through inaction, often leading to negative outcomes. Therefore, we must gather input, listen attentively, and ask questions, but ultimately, we must make the timely decisions that our roles demand and our business require.

We will persist in implementing all measures our board deems necessary to enhance the company’s standards, controls, and accountability.

Sustainability

We operate our business with awareness and responsibility, ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the environment.
Climate change stands as one of the most significant global challenges of our time. The built environment contributes up to 40% of annual global greenhouse gas emissions, making it imperative for the construction industry to take action. As the leading green builder in the United States, we are committed to enhancing the environmental performance and resilience of our projects, operations, and business practices—for the benefit of our clients, communities, and ourselves.

Our teams are diligently tracking resource usage across projects of all scales, pinpointing the primary consumers of fuel, energy, and water on job sites. We are leveraging this data to implement reduction strategies, including electrifying our fleet, testing hybrid and electric construction equipment, mandating LED lighting on all sites, and prohibiting vehicle idling.

We are also collaborating with our supply chain, clients, and design partners to lower the embodied carbon in building materials.
The rise in fires, floods, hurricanes, and other severe weather events is fueling a growing interest in building resilience—the ability of our built environment to endure and recover from these extreme conditions.

In collaboration with our clients, we are focusing on new construction projects and retrofits to develop buildings that can withstand environmental and climate crises, ensuring the safety of occupants and swiftly resuming normal operations once the crisis subsides.
