The energy industry is grappling with one of its biggest transformations in decades. The rapid growth of AI and data centers has rewritten the demand curve, with Goldman Sachs projecting that global data center power demand could rise by 175% by 2030 compared with 2023 levels.

Well-designed behind-the-meter systems using advanced microgrid controls can safely island during outages and even export power during periods of peak demand, transforming large facilities from grid consumers into grid partners.
“Grid integration matters when the timeline allows and interconnection is available,” Ramos says. “Bypassing the grid matters when speed is critical or the queue is too long. It often starts by bridging the power until a permanent connection is ready.”

“They have built production capacity specifically for us,” Ramos explains. “We’re purchasing transformers in large volumes built to our specifications. We’ve invested significant resources to help expand that capacity because quality, reliability and certainty are just as important as cost.”
The same strategy extends to modules, glass, trackers and other critical components. By developing strategic supplier relationships and sourcing through trusted U.S. partners where appropriate, SYMX helps customers reduce tariff exposure while maintaining dependable project schedules.
Looking ahead, Ramos believes energy development will continue shifting toward infrastructure to support rapidly growing demand.
